01Tessellations For Coffee

Laser-Cutting, Wood, Sculpture

2024-02

This project uses mathematical precision and organic fluidity through an Escher-style tessellation of geckos, transformed into a functional and visually engaging coaster.I used inkscape and the Trotec lasercutter to engrave tesselations into balsa woood. The project reflects my interest in bridging artistic complexity with functional design, demonstrating skills in digital fabrication, pattern development, and the tactile & aesthetic potential of tessellation in everyday objects.
