Editorial photography, styling
2024-08
Rough it out is a photography project inspired by a commitment to make the most of everything. In a storytelling format, I wanted to challenge the idea of refinement and crack the lens of perceived control in aspects of life, for one of the shots I wore a prom dress and waded into a swamp, stepping in, slipping and embracing the fall. When structured as a 3x3 grid, the progression illustrates a design thinking approach: embracing constraints, testing limits, and adapting in real time. The final image, smiling after the fall, reinforces the core idea: true adaptability comes not from avoiding obstacles, but from engaging with them fully. The second shoot displays a new carefree abandon, this time fully immersed and bordering performance art, the styling being simple to represent the rawness of the moment
